The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Production Diary 13
Wow! The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug LA Premiere was amazing! The Black Carpet was so cool and it was great seeing Aidan and the cast again. There are lots of great photos and video in this post, plus at the end of this post is all the photos and media that I could find from the arrival of the Air New Zealand ‘Smaug’ plane that landed at Los Angeles International airpot.
Aidan attended the premiere with Sarah Greene (who looked STUNNING! Aidan and Sarah both looked amazing!)

Lots of videos, photos, and more after the jump!
Aidan and Dean participated in a LIVE Q&A with fans on The Hobbit Movie Facebook page! The questions were all brilliant but the responses were pretty funny. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience for both fan and actors, plus I got my question answered by them!
Dean O’Gorman Online posted a gallery of all the questions and answers, which you can view here!
Here are a few pictures, one from Dean’s Twitter, The Hobbit Movie Twitter and Instagram:
Aidan and a few castmembers from The Hobbit trilogy attending the Los Angeles opening of the Book of New Zealand. From what I’ve gathered, it is a large scale art exhibit that’s basically a HUGE pop up book. It sounds brilliant and really cool, I hope any Aidan fans in the LA area check it out!
“New Zealand has come to California with a spectacular display that will be open for five days. You will literally step into a giant book of New Zealand and travel through four of the principal filming locations for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” says Kevin.
“From afar, the Book depicts New Zealand, but then, as you step inside its pages, the locations from the movie come alive as you walk through actual film sets.
“We are delighted to be a part of the worldwide media programme in Los Angeles, and believe The Book of New Zealand will motivate all those who experience it to share the wider New Zealand story.” [ Source ]

World Premiere is December 2, 2013 in Los Angeles, CA, USA. Venue has not been announced yet. A few radio stations nationally have competitions to win tickets to the premiere: “U.S. residents of IL, IN, WI, or MI can enter the Loop competition ( closing date unknown) and Canadians The Beat 94.5 FM (closing date 17 Nov).”
European Premiere will be in Berlin, German on December 9, 2013. UK residents can enter a contest to win tickets to the premiere when they pre-order to see The Hobbit: DOS with Cineworld or Empire cinemas ( closing dates 25 and 28 Nov respectively). Sky TV are also running a competition for customers.
There are two additional European premieres.
On 10 December, 2013 there will be a Swiss premiere at Arena Cinemas in Zurich, Switzerland. Aidan Turner (Kili) and Dean O’Gorman (Fili) will be attending. Our friends at Warner Brothers Zurich tell us that the red carpet event will start at 6.45pm. While it’s not possible to buy tickets, there will be opportunities to win them. Watch out for the TV spots on several channels beforehand (RTL Group).
The Spanish premiere will be held in Madrid on 11 or 12 December, 2013. This will be attended by Richard Armitage (Thorin) and Luke Evans (Bard). Richard and Luke are also attending the Premios 40 Principales 2013, which is on the 12 December, making 11 December the most likely date for The Hobbit premiere.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug goes on general release in the US and UK on 13 December, 2013. Worldwide release dates can be viewed here.

After our ARTICLE Issue Two cover shoot in Dungeness on the Kent coast, Aidan and our production assistant Paul took part in a very tense game of pool in the local pub where we had dinner…..
Who do you think won this game?
(Video by Joe Connor)
These were the only pictures of Aidan from the new issue of Empire Magazine (has 5 different covers, 4 of which are collector, non have Aidan featured on them). I love behind the scenes candids, especially with Aidan and his dwarf crew.
Check them out below!
ComingSoon.Net just posted this banner! Check out Kili (Aidan Turner), looking very nice (and hot!) – I can’t wait for this movie!
The young, hot dwarf in The Hobbit’s company has played just about every supernatural beastie going, up to and including a Romantic poet. And no wonder: he’s far too handsome to be an honest-to-goodness human being. There must have been some sort of mistake.
Probably Mitchell in Being Human, with an honourable mention for Kili in The Hobbit and a nod of acknowledgement to The Mortal Instruments’ one redeeming feature, Turner’s Luke Garroway. So that’s a vampire, a dwarf and a werewolf then.
STROKE OF CHARM
Here’s a video where he apparently looks like an otter. [ Source ]
I’m sorry for posting this so late! Here is the media for the Article Magazine featuring Aidan, many of which are part of Jesse Craig (the photographer). [ Source ]

His interview with Aidan:
OnEdges reached a few milestones on Twitter: 400, 450, & 500 followers. For the first two, they released two unseen photos of Aidan from a shoot they did a few weeks back. For the 500th milestone, they will release yet another new image!
Here are the two they released so far!
OnEdges shot of Aidan for The Article Mag taken by Joe Connor:
“We are excited to share with you our cover for Issue Two (Newsstand Edition), featuring actor Aidan Turner, star of ‘Being Human’, ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy and ‘Mortal Instruments’.
Aidan is wearing a peacoat by Hunter Gather and shirt by Mr. Start.
The newsstand edition will be available across London at end of next week.”
Dean O’Gorman posted this fantastic portrait of Aidan that he took! He’s an amazing photographer! Check out his portfolio here: Source/Credit
